THE REAL MEANING OF THE WORD KANSAS IS “people of the south wind.” AND A STONE IS SOLID,STRONG AND TOUGH…

THE  NAME AND IDEA OF KANSAS STONE HAS BEEN AROUND FOR MANY YEARS IN BRIAN VAIN’S HEAD. IT WAS IN THE WINTER OF 2014 BRIAN TOOK THE IDEA OF A COUNTRY ROCK BAND AND A BOOK FULL OF SONG TO HIS BEST FRIEND MATT DAVEY… IT WAS ON THAT DAY THEY PLANED TO PUT A BAND TOGETHER FULL OF POSITIVE AND TALENTED MUSICIANS. BRIAN THEN CALLED BRAD, SOMEONE HE RANDOMLY MET AT THE GYM WHEN WORKING OUT.. BRAD JUMPED ON THE KS TRAIN FULL OF ENERGY.. NEEDING A FEW MORE MEMBERS TO COMPLETE THE LINE UP, BRIAN WROTE TWO GUYS HE HAD PLAYED WITH A FEW TIMES BEFORE, DAVE AND GEOFF WERE ON BOARD AS WELL.. EVERYTHING WAS COMING TOGETHER.

BRIAN VAIN

From a very young age Brian grew up listening to country music like Alabama, Randy Travis, Elvis and Garth Brooks but as he grew up he started to grow a love for all music listening to Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Micheal Jackson and anything that he could get his hands on. At the age of 11 Brian picked up his first guitar and began teaching himself, After years of no guitar or vocal lessons Brian had begun writing his own songs and found something he was really good at, finding melodies that were easy to sing along to but there was only one problem.. Brian was so shy he couldn’t even play in front of his parents let alone anyone else. It was when Brian was 22 he almost lost his hand in a workplace accident and finally broke his shyness enough to start playing his songs for other people. After many years or writing and performing in a rock band Brian wanted to go back to his roots. The name Kansas Stone had been an idea in Brians head for many years until he had a book of country songs he had wrote and brought them to his best friend Matt Davey.. after that day Brian’s idea was now reality

MATT DAVEY

Matt like many before him was drawn to rock n roll and country music at an early age. The sounds of the Greats like Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Gregg All man , etc. Flow through Matt’s Vein’s like a natural part of him. Joining Kansas Stone came about when Brian (leads singer) & began writing a few songs that were unlike any other we had previously been producing. With a little more Country Rock twang and a new direction the Spark was lit!! KS quickly grew in size and continues to gain momentum treading there own ground. With Matty delivering Banjo pickin’ twang and telecaster driven’ Melody’s that will have you reminiscing the most timeless of players
